...when PvE will be introduced.
Multi Massive...
How is this term related to this game? The first problematic factor is the player count. Multi Massive... 4000 players? Impossible.
There are 2 reasons why I might try to define DUST a MMO, but they are not solid enough, right now.
1. It co-exists with EVE. Unfortunately, I can't really feel this part of the game's mechanic. EVE has no really influence on DUST and DUST players have no idea of what's happening to EVE. Most of them don't even care. DUST and EVE players cannot play together, the only connection is in-game communication. I don't mean DUST and EVE players should be able to play "simultaneously", as they are two different games. There are several possible ways to improve the connection between the 2 games and PvE could be a huge opportunity. A well-built Pve would bring a lot of stuff directly connected to the EVE Universe. Just imagine how much of the politics and economy of New Eden would be introduced with real-time PvE DUST missions. And have them directly affecting the other game. Two games tightly connected by PvE. Alliances would be much more important, providing ships and clones to colonize the PvE universe. I got SO MUCH stuff running wild in my mind that I won't even try to organize it and write it down right now, this is just a general thought about this.
2. Planetary Conquest. Well, there is not much to say. This is the only real "MMO" aspect of the game, but it's definitely not enough: The worst thing is that PC is terribly "elitist" and unavailable for new players. Dang, even for "non-new" players. Let's make it clear: It's a brutal experience if you're not prepared, everything is proto and there are Tanks everywhere. Also, you really need to be an ACTIVE player to have some role in PC. This is clearly forbidding for new(ish) players and should be re-designed to allow fresh players and corp to have a decent role in PC and to enjoy a potentially awesome feature of the game and to own some district without getting insta-destroyed by the first PRO-Corp around. Militia and STD gear PC noob battles? I say yes. Newbies need to feel this game ahd reasons to play it.
If there's any concrete possibility to make DUST a completely new game, that's PvE. DUST on PS4 will be an important refresh yes, better graphics, increased performances, etc... but having a FUN game is much more important. That makes the difference between an already awesome game going to PS4 and a mediocre game trying to survive thanks to a new game platform.
I hope that Devs are really going to do their best for PvE, since I see it the most concrete chance to bring this game to the next level.
Different Corps and Alliances cooperating or competing in PvE for colonization and control, simultaneously. Lonely soldiers and squads meeting each other in the open space. Real time support request and joining. That's what I would call MMO. |

I've never played the game so I can't tell if it feels like a MMO.
DUST does not, to me. I'm sorry. |

Get involved, try to make yourself useful then.
Sorry for trying to show that this game can massively improve with a good PvE.
If you think DUST is a good MMO right now, well then. Have fun. |

Kay High wrote:Pandora, you're beating a dead horse. Everyone alrady knows that PvE is needed. Infact it was supposed to be implemented last year, but with the core problems they had to push it back a little. From the depths of the rumor mills and from what i recal from Fanfest, CCP said that PvE will be comming sometime this year and that it is all but done.
As IWS said, get yourse;lf involved in dust and you will see a little more of what is going around, dont be like the QQr's on the forum and just whine and cry all the time. Go and have fun, even if you have to do it yourself.
This is not QQing, I'm just trying to show how much PvE can help.
I'm not having fun with PC right now. |
